What is fractional general counsel?
Fractional general counsel provides businesses with ongoing
legal support without the expense of hiring a full-time,
in-house attorney. As outside counsel integrated with your
management team, I can assist with contracts, business
operations, risk management, transactions, and day-to-day
legal issues as they arise.
Do you handle litigation?
No. My practice focuses on transactions, contracts, business
counseling, real estate matters, and project development. If a
dispute requires litigation, I maintain relationships with
experienced litigators and am happy to help clients identify
appropriate counsel if that need arises.
Do you work with businesses outside Maine?
Yes. I am licensed to practice law in Maine and New York and
regularly work with businesses and projects that have
connections to one or both states. Many companies operate
across state lines, and I can assist clients whose
operations, transactions, or projects involve Maine or New York.

Yes. My practice is designed to operate efficiently using
virtual tools and technology, allowing me to work with clients
throughout Maine and New York. Remote meetings, document
sharing, and electronic signatures often make it possible to
move matters forward quickly while remaining responsive and

How do meetings work?
Meetings can be conducted virtually or in person, depending on
client preferences and location. I work to make the process
convenient, efficient, and accessible.
Do you offer flat fees?
Yes. For certain matters with a clearly defined scope, I offer
flat-fee arrangements. Examples may include business formation,
organizational documents, contract reviews, and other discrete
projects. For more complex or evolving matters, hourly billing
may be more appropriate.
